Recent reads: "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini, "Crescent" by Diana Abu-Jaber, "Ella Minnow Pea" by Mark Dunn, "We need to talk about Kevin" by Lionel Shriver, "Kissing Shadows" by Renée, "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer, Isabel Allende, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Tim Winton, Sandra Cisneros, Salman Rushdie, Audrey Niffenegger, Annie Proulx, etc, etc

Films come a close second to books. Love every genre. Foreign language, science fiction, action, Coen brothers, Johnny Depp movies. Recently seen: "Water", "Wah Wah", "Little Miss Sunshine". New Zealand movies a 'must see' eg. "In my father's den", "No. 2", "Sione's Wedding", "Whale Rider", "Stickmen"

Deadwood, Carnivale, The Wire. Going to check out Sopranos and Six feet under. Advertising on TV drives me to distraction, so we wait until good series come out on DVD and have a marathon. So far Buffy the Vampire Slayer the most addictive!

Reading, writing, catching up with friends over a good bottle of plonk etc, singing really loudly in the car so that my children hide under the seat, watching my neices and nephews grow, travel the face of the globe when the stars are right.
